Hi! My name is Caroline Schapansky, and here is my “why” behind creating Disability Redefined.
Far too often, students with disabilities are left on the sidelines, not because they lack ability, but because they lack the support to truly thrive. Having spent the past three to four years directly working and advocating to dismantle these barriers, I have ensured that I am doing my part in combating these challenges. It wasn’t until a friend looked at me with tears in her eyes saying, “Thank you for making me feel seen”, that I knew I needed to turn my passion for advocacy into a platform because being ‘seen’ should not be a privilege for those with disabilities. “Disability Redefined” aims at expanding inclusive perspective through education, advocacy efforts, and social media.
